It's Monday! What are you reading?

It's Monday! What are you reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. Jen Vincent over at Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee Moye from Unleashing Readers decided to put a children's and YA spin on it and they invite anyone with an interest to join in. You can participate by creating your post then visit one of their sites to add your site. Finally, visit at least three participant blogs and comment to spread the love.

If you want to know more about what I am reading, visit me at my Goodreads shelf. Images via Goodreads unless otherwise noted.

Last Week in Books:

The highlights of the week were Out of the Woods, Jimi, Waiting for Winter, and The Carnival at Bray. The most bizarre book of the week was The Kingdom of Little Wounds. The author described it as a fairytale about syphilis. I found that to be accurate. The content was on the adult side and I was not really enjoying it at first, but it grew on me over time. Mr. Ferris and His Wheel was pretty cool and so was The Most Amazing Creature in the Sea.

The Coming Week:
I'm taking my time with Burn Baby Burn. It's excellent so far. I have been listening to My Beloved World by Sonia Sotamayor and love learning about her life. I started Control by Lydia Kang and am liking it. I have two more Printz books to read and would love to finish them before the new winner is announced so will try to get to them this week. That is probably all I will fit in this week aside from some picture books at school. I hope you have a great week filled with reading!

  1. I should try to read the Printz books since I work with students in that age group. I have read a few but have so many still to go. Here is what I read last week. Happy reading!

  5. I loved Out of The Woods and The Most Amazing Creatures In The Sea, both good for their intent. I enjoyed Yaqui Delgado so will put Burn Baby Burn on the list for when it comes out, Crystal. Hope you can finish your Printz books. What a great goal you've made and "almost" accomplished. Have a great week!

  7. I really like the look of Punkzilla right there - and pretty good Goodreads rating as well - and we have one copy available in our library - it looks like a pretty intense read though.
