#MustReadin2016 Update

Thanks to the wonderful Carrie Gelson for hosting this challenge. I started with a list of 54 books this year. By mid-April at our first update, I had read 14. Since then, I have read another 9 for a total of 25. I am more than a little behind schedule, but am chipping away at the list.

The standouts for me were Booked, Rhythm Ride, Death by Toilet Paper, Thunderboy Jr. and Last Night I Sang to the Monster. I would say more, but tomorrow is the first day of school and I need to get to sleep so I can be bright-eyed and cheerful in the morning.

  1. Hope you have a great first day! At least you have a long weekend coming up! I'm finishing up my second week of school... always seems like summer never happened.
I really enjoyed Booked. Loved Crossover just a bit more, but it was a solid follow up to a much loved book!

  2. Best wishes for a great year, Crystal. Thanks for the titles. I did enjoy Death By Toilet Paper, too, and will add some of those titles to my "next" list!

  3. Best wishes for this school beginning! I also loved Death by Toilet Paper. Thinking this might be a wonderful read aloud . . .

  4. I had the same opinion of Booked as Michele. I really loved Thunder Boy Jr. as I really love Sherman Alexie's humour.

  5. Good luck at school Crystal. Last Night I Sang to the Monster is on my list. I think I might have to add it to my 2017 must read list. I love Benjamin Alire Sáenz's writing. Death by Toilet Paper is one of my favourites as well.

  6. Last Night I Sang to the Monster is on my Must Read list this year too, and after reading how much you liked it, I'm even more excited to read it! I know I'll love it, I've loved everything I've read of his, just am having trouble getting to all the books!
