It's Monday! What are you reading?

It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It's a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right just might discover your next “must-read” book!

Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and Jen Vincent, of Teach Mentor Texts decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

If you want to know more about what I've been reading, visit my Goodreads shelf.

Last Week in Books:

Meet Cute is a YA collection of fun short stories. I do love a good "meet cute" in romantic comedies. I also read a bunch of picture books. Some of them were underwhelming, but several were really cool and I'll be reading them with students for sure.

The Coming Week: I have the picture book Chester Nez and the Unbreakable Code, How I Resist, My So-Called Bollywood Life and Love Sugar Magic checked out from the library. We'll see what I can get to in this very busy last week of school. I have dinner with colleagues tomorrow, a study group dinner at my house on Wed (I'll make much of the food Tues night), an outing with a cousin Thursday evening and then it is officially summer break for me. Whew.

  1. I see a Dan Santat book there! I am going to visit your Goodreads shelf :)

Happy reading this week! Almost summer break!

  2. Mama's Belly, Hello Hello, and Crescent Moons and Pointed Minarets all look good! And I'll have to see if we have the Meet Cute book in my area, too. Thanks for sharing your pile of books. Hope you have a wonderful last week of school, Crystal!

  3. I'll note some of your picture books, Crystal, & Meet Cute, also. Thanks for sharing so many. I've read only Hello Hello, liked it, fun for the little ones.

  4. I can't wait to read Cali's latest school book.

  5. The Chester Nez title sounds perfect for our upcoming reading theme, but sadly we don't have it in our library yet (boo!). Love the look of Dragon Doctor!
