It's Monday! What are you reading?

It's Monday! What are you reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. Jen Vincent over at Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee Moye from Unleashing Readers decided to put a children's and YA spin on it and they invite anyone with an interest to join in. You can participate by creating your post then visit one of their sites to add your site. Finally, visit at least three participant blogs and comment to spread the love.

If you want to know more about what I am reading, visit me at my Goodreads shelfImages via Goodreads unless otherwise noted.

The Past Week:

Last week was the first week of school, a visit from my mother-in-law and my husband's Ironman race, so not a lot of reading was happening. The books I read were great though. I listened to The Coldest Girl in Coldtown and had a lot of fun. I didn't know what I was getting into, but enjoyed the vampires and the very interesting storyline. What Does it Mean to Be Present? is a fantastic picture book about be conscious of the moment you are inhabiting and appreciating that time and space. It was a good reminder for me and I think it will be meaningful to many readers both young and older. Many thoughts from the book popped into my head during my very busy week.

The Coming Week:

Currently Reading

I am listening to the memoir and reading the other too the old-fashioned way. I am not sure what else I will be reading, but I am almost finished with these three so will surely grab a few other titles during the week. By the way, Wild Things! is freakishly good.

I hope you have an excellent week of reading.

  2. I look forward to reading Wild Things. I am quite intrigued by the idea of subversion in children's literature -- and also just subversion in general. I think it can often be a good thing. :)
