It's Monday! What are you reading?

It's Monday! What are you reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. Jen Vincent over at Teach Mentor Texts and Kellee Moye from Unleashing Readers decided to put a children's and YA spin on it and they invite anyone with an interest to join in. You can participate by creating your post then visit one of their sites to add your site. Finally, visit at least three participant blogs and comment to spread the love.

If you want to know more about what I am reading, visit me at my Goodreads shelf. Images via Goodreads unless otherwise noted.

Last Week on the Blogs:

Last Week in Books:

I read quite a few books last week, but those I've included above were the best of the best. I think I could say "My heart fills with happiness" when I think of these books.

The Coming Week: I'm still listening to How to Be Compassionate and I've just started to read Saving Montgomery Sole. I'll be reading an ARC of The Peculiar Haunting of Thelma Bee too. I have ten books checked out, but I'm not sure what I want to start next. I wish you a wonderful week filled with reading.

  1. A number of these books just arrived in our library last week. On friday I peeked in a box to see Flora and the Penguin, but alas, I had no time to read it. The Wild Robot is ready to circulate and I didn't manage to find time to read it. I have had My Heart Fills with Happiness sitting beside my computer because I'm not sure what to do with it. The more I pick it up and read it, the more I'm loving it.

  3. You did read so many lovely books last week, Crystal. I liked ABC Dream very much, & just realized I read Mo Willems new, and final, Elephant & Piggie book, but then gave it to my granddaughters. It is already much loved! I still need to find The Wild Robot and Are We There Yet? Thanks!

  4. A lot of those are in my favorites too! I have not read ABC Dream and I've seen that come up on a lot of lists. Hmmmm.
The Wild Robot was definitely a favorite. I love when books surprise you and that one did for me, I really did not know where Brown was going to take us in that novel. He did good :)

  5. So many great books this week - I see a few of my recent faves. I still haven't read The Thank You Book yet. I'm chomping at the bit for it to come in at my library.

  6. I loved When Green Becomes Tomatoes. I ordered it for my classroom library for next year. I think a lot of times I'm kind of intimidated by poetry books, but this one is so sweet and approachable. I love the illustrations. Horrible Bear! is hilarious and I think I want that one for my classroom library just for the fun of it! Have a great week!

  7. Human Body Theater and Wild Robot are both on my TBR. I also need to read the final E&P book and Santat's newest.

    Happy reading this week :)

  9. I am really intrigued by Tattoo Story - unfortunately we don't have a copy yet in our libraries. I reviewed Last Night I Sang to the Monster last year I believe - what a gripping and powerful story, that one.
