Celebrate!

Ruth Ayres has a link-up on weekends where people link to posts that are celebrations about their week. I love this reminder to celebrate every week and I appreciate the community we have through this link-up.

Celebrating Running

I'm celebrating running again. I signed up for a half-marathon in September. I'm not officially training yet, but will start in a few weeks. For now, it is enough to get out a few times a week. Last week I ran three times and finished 10 1/2 miles altogether. After not running much over the past six months, it's nice to know I can still get moving. The miles are going pretty slowly, but they are happening.

My favorite place to run is a nearby park. The trail is flat though so I wanted to find a way to get some hills into my run. The picture above is my newest route. When I run that direction, I get in a little over three miles. I run up and over a bridge twice and I get to look at the Mississippi River too. It's a win-win. Have a great week!

  1. Great views on your new running route. Anytime you can look at water and exercise at the same time is a win in my book. Congrats on signing up for a half-marathon!

  2. Congratulations on this beginning to train for a marathon, Crystal. Wow, I walked three miles yesterday, now know what that is, and to run it, too! (FYI - the link from Ruth's post isn't working. I had to find your post from Google.)

  4. Great views! I will be walking more bit by bit and hope to be taking longer walks by the end of summer.

  5. Yes, it is important to celebrate the slow miles because they signify strength. It is so hard to begin running again. Yay for your celebration!
