Ruth Ayres has a link-up on Saturdays where people link to posts that are celebrations about their week. I love this reminder to celebrate every day. Here are some of my celebrations from the week in no particular order.
* A friend and I had a "play date" this week. We used finger paints and watercolors to make some fun art together. We had candles lit near our working spaces and it was super relaxing.
* I got the garage and the refrigerator cleaned out. These were rather huge chores because I took things apart and got really picky about it all. I love to do a thorough cleaning periodically. Afterwards, opening the doors and looking at the shininess and organization gives me a burst of happiness.
* I have also spent many hours outside pulling weeds and taking care of plants. All of the cleaning and taking care of things is difficult at the time, but is so satisfying once it is accomplished. I have enjoyed checking things off of my "to do" list.
* My daughter sent some pictures of her trip to Japan. It looks like she is having a wonderful time. I worry about her while she is there, but it's also very exciting to realize all that she is getting to experience and it will be so wonderful to hear about her trip when she returns in a few weeks.
* I don't usually watch sports on tv, but have had a great time watching World Cup games with friends and family.
I hope that you also have found many things to celebrate this week. Have a great weekend.

I love the idea of having a good time painting with a friend. I am impressed with the amount of chores you seem to have crossed of the to-do list. It is always hard to motivate yourself to do that hard work, but I am sure it is really great to see the clean spaces. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea. We have exchange students coming within the month and so it's a race to get all of my summer chores done before we are busy with all of activities planned with them. It's great incentive to move quickly. :)
DeleteWeeding and cleaning are good for the soul! The weeds in my vegetable garden have now grown taller than my plants. I need to get out there and tackle that job. Have a great week!

I would have to agree. Thanks Jennifer!
DeleteA painting play date?!?! Hmmm, I'll have to organize one soon, it sounds like so much fun! All of your cleaning and organizing has inspired me to get some done this week. Thanks for the happy celebrations this morning!
ReplyDeleteYes the painting play date was fun and I am so glad my friend thought of it. :)
DeleteFingers in the soil and fingers in the paint both produce pretty results. Congratulations on tackling major cleaning tasks. Wishing you another wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Terje!
DeleteWow. sounds like you have been super productive. Impressive and inspiring. I am off to my laundry room to find counter space for all of my plants I brought home from my classroom. And then I have a very long list of To Do items! I also love that feeling of peeking at the clean, organized spaces we make happen!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have more plants indoors. I may have to get some for the library next year. :)
DeleteI totally understand your desire to check things off your list. I have lots I'd still like to get to this summer. I'll be your daughter is having an amazing time in Japan!
ReplyDeleteMy list keeps getting longer too as I think of more things to do. :)
DeleteCongrats on a productive week! I got a big chunk of weeding done this week as well, and wow, does it look different in the garden! Hoping that will be the motivation I need to keep at it. I've been enjoying the World Cup too--first time I've watched soccer. Surprised at how fun a 0-1 match can be!
ReplyDeleteYes. I have been surprised by how interesting the soccer can be. I'm off to watch some more with friends this afternoon. :)
DeleteI love the art date! I very much enjoy doing crafty things with friends. When I was in college, my roommate and I did this and then framed out pieces. They were proudly displayed in our apartment. Nice job on getting all your cleaning done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to frame them. Thanks!
